Follow these steps to assemble your Cutieplants Hanging Air Plant Kit:

  1. Place the small hoop next to one of the large hoops so that they touch and the seams (where each hoop's ends meet) are facing the same direction.

  2. Loop one length of crochet thread (the thinner cord) through both hoops so that the hoops sit at the center of the thread.
  3. Wrap one end of the thread around both hoops 4 times away from center.
  4. Wrap the other end of the thread around both hoops 4 times in the opposite direction.
  5. At the end of your wraps, tuck the ends of the cord up between the two hoops so that both ends are threaded through the hoops in the same direction.
  6. Pull both ends tightly toward each other to ensure your wraps stay taught.
  7. Tie a double knot in the center above your wraps and cut off excess thread, careful not to cut so close that your knot comes undone.
  8. Repeat steps 1-7 to attach the second large hoop to the opposite side of the small hoop, ensuring that your double knot ends up on the same side of your wraps.
  9. Lay your three attached hoops down so that the double knots face up, and bring the outside edges of the large hoops up so that they meet in the center above your small hoop.
  10. Loop your macrame cord (the thicker cord) through the top of the two larger hoops so that the hoops sit at the center of your length of cord.
  11. Wrap one end of the cord around both hoops 8 times away from center, bringing the end of your cord up between the two hoops after your last wrap.

  12. Wrap the other end of the cord around both hoops 8 times in the opposite direction, bringing the end of your cord up between the two hoops after your last wrap.
  13. Pull both ends tightly toward each other to ensure your wraps stay taught.
  14. Tie a double knot in the center above your wraps.
  15. Thread one end of the macrame cord through the eye of the needle (you may need to wet the end of the cord in your mouth and flatten it with your fingers).
  16. Thread the cord through the first wooden bead.
  17. Use the needle to thread the 2nd end of the macrame cord through the bead so that both strands of the cord are running through the bead in the same direction.
  18. With both strands of cord together, tie a loose knot just above the wooden bead. Work the knot down to the top of the bead and tighten it just above the bead by keeping it in place with your thumb and index finger as you pull both strands of macrame cord.
  19. At the length of your choosing (depending on how high you want to hang your air plant), tie another knot with both strands of cord.
  20. Add the second wooden bead.
  21. Form a 4” loop with both cords together and tie a knot just above the wooden bead, preserving your loop.

  22. Cut off the excess cord, leaving about ½” on each strand and use your blunt needle to work the ends of the strands down into the bead to hide them.

  23. Place the ceramic terra cotta dish into the small hoop, pressing lightly.
  24. Arrange your air plant and crystal in the dish.

Hang your creation and enjoy!

When you go to hang your air plant, if you notice the dish leaning to one side or the other of the planter, ensure that your crystal is not pulling it in one direction. Also ensure your dish is sitting directly below your hanging cord, not to one side or the other.
